AZ Power North 17u Platinum team has been together for a couple of seasons and has 5 players getting D1 interest: PG Terriq Tshaka (PV), PF Kai Fletcher, G Trey Checkett, G JT Thoman (Chaparral) and C Jake Hess (Horizon). Their sleeper is SF/PF Nick Morris (Cesar Chavez) that brings a competitive attitude to every play and athleticism that is rarely matched.
AZ Power North 16U had a good spring season and is getting stronger with key acquisitions. This team is led by PG Brady Giordano (Desert Mountain), SF Chris Hermes (Mountain Ridge) G Raymond Dawson (Corona del Sol) Josh Phillips (Scottsdale Christian) and G Josef Davis (Chaparral). The key additions are Anthony Wilson PF (Sunnyslope), PG Salis Slaughter and G Elijah Burden (Aspire Academy) both of which will be playing on Aspire’s National Team. These new players along with a very solid returning group are going to make some noise in the 16u division.
AZ Power is coached by John Jensen who originally started the club known as SBA or Scottsdale Basketball Academy which eventually teamed up with the Arizona Power Basketball Academy (APBA).
They typically feature talent from the northeast valley which has featured some of the very top talents in the part of town.
