Elijah Childs 6’7″ KC Run GMC (Lee’s Summit West): Childs played a big part in his team’s march to the tournament title with 12 points in the championship game. He was a factor offensively with a couple of jump hooks, some offensive put-backs and a few baseline jumpers. He also displayed some athleticism on the defensive end with his shot blocking. He is just a versatile power forward who has received a number of mid-major offers and will receive even more.
Isiah Sears 6’7″ Team Rush (Life Prep): The long, lanky forward plays the Stretch 4 role to perfection. He is an excellent 3-point shooter off the catch, but he is much more than just a pick and pop guy. Despite his lean frame, he can operate in the low post very effectively, especially when he’s able to back down a smaller defender and shoot over him. He will do a year of prep school at Life Prep.
Richard Henderson 6’5″ St. Louis Eagles (Pattonville): An athletic power forward who got extended playing time during the Jayhawk and played with high energy. He is very effective offensively if he gets the ball in certain spots, particularly when he’s able to get the ball on the left side, which is his dominant hand. He is an active offensive rebounder who scored on a bunch of put backs. He also made several nice rim runs.
Jackson Golighty 6’6″ Missouri Mavericks Black (Maryville): A nice Stretch 4 who did an excellent job knocking down open 3-pointers throughout the weekend. He was very good shooting off the catch. He’s long and lean and also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and create a shot as well.
Marshon Morrisey 6’4″ SEMO Bulls (Ellington): A beefy power forward who made up for his lack of height with his bulk and muscle around the basket. “Big Baby” is a very good offensive rebounder with his ability to carve out his own real estate. He gets good position in the low post and finishes well around the basket.
Makenzie Fessler 6’4″ Missouri Mavericks Black (Marceline): I got my first look at this small-school standout and was impressed with his ability to score within the 15 foot area. He was very good in the low post, especially with his jump hook over the left shoulder. He was excellent from the high post with his ability to make 15 footers and score on a bounce from the free throw line.
Steven Brandt 6’3″ Missouri Mavericks Silver (Fatima): A real scrappy forward who was constantly in the mix for loose balls and rebounds. He made up for his lack of size inside with his hustle and aggressiveness. He also got his share of buckets with his ability to score on drives and hard cuts to the basket without the ball.
