Honorable Mentions:
Dre Marin PG/SG 2017 6’0″ Apollo – Marin was in charge of locking up one of the nation’s top guards. He did an outstanding job on that end while contributing on the offensive end. He wasn’t shooting the ball in the manner that he is capable, but he was still productive. He is one of the top two way players in the state.
Treyvon McCray PG 2017 6’1″ Copper Canyon – McCray did a nice job of handling physical and pressuring guards. His ability to see the floor was vital to the team’s success.
Nigel Shadd C 2017 6’9″ Tri-City Christian (AZ) – Shadd is always working for positioning and does a nice job of competing. He had his hands full in a very competitive game. Although his numbers weren’t what they typically are, he demonstrated, once again, that he can play on the highest level.
Malik Ondigo PF/C 2016 6’10” Dysart – his improvement from last year at this point to now is astonishing. I loved his work ethic and motor, but he has added many new elements to his game. He has been in the weight room, added some square up moves, added a nice high-low passing ability, and added new post moves. His stock has risen substantially and with good reason.
