Aamir Simms – 6’9’’ PF – Team Loaded VA
Simms is a special talent. He possess a great body and skill set set that allows him to play both inside and out. The Blue Ridge High School product is extremely patient when catching the ball on the low block, displaying an uncanny feel for a big that age. He finished well with his back to the basket and was an excellent passer out of the post. He also stretched the defense, hitting several three’s when trailing plays and knocked down several jumpers in pick and pop situations.It is showed several reasons why he is a coveted high major recruit at Big Shots.
James Sullivan – 6’3’’ Guard – Big Shots Elite
Sullivan, a rising senior at Turner Ashby really improved his stock at Big Shots Myrtle Beach Session I and Session II. He shot it well off the catch and displayed a really nice pull up game, utilizing shot fakes to get defenders off the floor to create space. More importantly, Sullivan showed a nice work rate defensively. He picked his man up full court and pressured ball handlers, while also showing good instincts in the passing lanes. Sullivan received an offer UVA-Wise on the last day of the first evaluation period.
Taiquan Drummond – 6’5’’ Wing – Team Loaded 757
Drummond enjoyed a very good week, as he made shots from multiple levels. He displayed a nice pull up game and hit a ton of threes off the catch. The Kecoughtan high school guard was one of the top scorers in the top division of the tournament and he helped Team Loaded 757 to two final four finishes. Drummond pulled an offer from West Virginia Wesleyan following the event.
Jason Wade – 6’5’’ PG – River City Reign
Wade is a big, physical point guard with an advanced skill set. He did an excellent job of seeing the floor, delivering passes and getting Reign into its offense. Wade is best in attacking in downhill situation, utilizing his strength and athleticism to finish above the rim and through contact. He showed he can work a ball screen and hit big shots all weekend. The rising senior at Hanover received an offer from Delaware after his strong play. He also earned an invite to the Nike Victor Oladipo Skills Academy this week.
Jayden Nixon – 6’3’’ Guard – Team Richmond Garner Road
Nixon was solid all the way around for Team Richmond. He is a long and active defender who really wore down ball handlers. He showed a nice feel for the game, picking his spots and making the right plays. He displayed a confident stroke from deep and was very good in transition, finishing through contact.
Malik Johnson – 6’4’’ PG – Spectrum
Johnson really boosted his stock with his play in both sessions. He is a big, cerebral guard who made great decisions with the ball all weekend. He made open shots, worked ball screens well and got his teammates involved. He is also a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions.
Kiran Durant – 6’2’’ Guard – Team Loaded 757 Red
A sharp shooting lefty, Durant scored it well all weekend. He helped lead Team Loaded 757 to the Silver Bracket championship with multiple 20 plus point performances. Durant is a shot maker, he creates space well and can get his own. He has a nice change of speed to his game, making him a tough guard.
Kenneth Southerland – 6’7’’ PF – River City Reign
Southerland was one of the best athletes in the entire event. The Varina product is a high flyer and he showed his bounce every chance he got, catching lobs, put backs, and finishing around the rim. He rebounded in and out of his area and showed he is progressing to being able to defend on the perimeter. He also shot the ball well, making four threes in six games to stretch the defense.
