Derez Tipler 5’9″ SEMO Bulls (East Prairie): A pass-first point guard who combines excellent quickness and an high basketball IQ to be an excellent playmaker. Tipler does a nice job of setting up teammates for open shots, but he can get buckets when needed on dribble penetration and his mid-range jumper. Made a dramatic 3-pointer at the buzzer to give his team a victory over the Colorado Hawks in bracket play.
Courtland Sol 5’11” Rocktown (Tower Grove): A very poised point guard with smooth handles and excellent passing ability. I like how he changes speeds and directions to get in the lane and compromise the opposing defense. Plays with a lot of savvy with the ball in his hands.
Evan Asleson 5’11” Arsenal Hoops (DeSmet): A talented point guard with nice handles and excellent shooting ability, especially from long distance. Also feels the moment when to look for his offense. Scored 34 points in his team’s opening victory. He nailed four consecutive 3-pointers to rally his team from an early big deficit.
Damien Loyd 5’9″ Rocktown (Kirkwood): Talented young guard with excellent quickness and plays with a lot of pace on offense. He gets to the basket and has a very effective float game. If you leave him open, he will knock down 3-pointers. A very nice floor leader with a bright future.
Tayari Goodwn 5’8″ Gateway (Parkway North): A small point guard who has excellent shooting range. He knocked down several shots from well beyond the 3-point line. He will also hit them at very opportune times for his team. He’s quick and he plays with a lot of confidence and very little fear.
John Harris II 5’9″ KC Keys (Lee’s Summit): A quick lefty point guard who operates well in the open court and can make a perimeter shot. He also displayed some active hands on the defensive end.
Aidan McDaniel 5’10” Missouri Impact (Francis Howell North): Solid point guard who can handle the ball and get you into your offense. Very impressed with how he ran the pick and roll. He can turn the corner and get to the basket or stop and pop for the jumper off the screen.
