Trent Lyles 6’0″ Sacred Heart: A true point guard in every sense of the word, the team is always better when he is on floor. Lyles is an excellent ball handler who ball. is always strong and shifty with the He has excellent court vision and he consistently showed the ability to find teammates in scoring positions. The ball never stops moving. Lyles is also a very good offensive player off the dribble. He is always getting in the lane and showed the ability to score in traffic. He also made a number of mid-range jumpers.
Monty Johal 6’4″ Glendale: A smooth shooting guard who could get buckets in a seemingly effortless manner. Johal has good size and excellent length to make him an ideal wing player. He was one of the best at the camp at shooting the pull up 3-pointer, either in transition or just in walk-up fashion. He also has a nice mid-range jumper and can get to the basket to finish at the rim. He has the ability to put up points in bunches.
Cameron Van Leer 6’4″ Pacific: A very good combo guard with the size and versatility to play all three perimeter positions. He is a solid ball handler who takes care of the ball and an excellent passer who keeps the ball moving on offense. He knocked down a number of open 3-pointers and drove it strong to the basket. The son of a head coach, Cam brings good fundamentals and high basketball IQ to the table along with his size and skill set.
Shaun Williams 6’2″ Hazelwood Central: A point guard with nice size who displayed an explosive first step off the dribble to blow by defenders who tried to push up on him. He is more of a scorer with his ability to shoot the 3-pointer or pull up for the mid-range jumper in the lane. His size and quickness and good handles make him a very effective offensive weapon.
Justin Mathews-Williams 6’2″ Francis Howell North: A very aggressive and energetic bucket-getter, Mathews-Williams is a scorer who looked to get in done in a variety of ways. He has a strong body and he had no problem using his strength when driving to the basket and seeking contact. He did a good job of scoring in traffic. He made his share of short jumpers and floaters in the lane and a couple of 3-pointers. He was always in attack mode.
Landon Harrison 5’10” Helias: An athletic point guard who plays with a lot of toughness. Despite his small stature, he is solidly built and he was fearless in his constant forays to the basket. He was a very good finisher at the rim with both hands and he dropped several nice floaters for buckets. He was also a capable threat from 3-point range.
Mason Taylor 6’2″ Grandview: A nice combo guard who plays well at either pace. He is an excellent ball handler who has the ability to get to the rim and finish. He is also a very good 3-point shooter. Taylor also grabbed his share of rebounds from the guard position.
Jadis White 6’0″ Chaminade: A pass-first point guard who displayed nice court vision throughout the camp. He was a very good passer in transition and in the halfcourt with good penetration and dump downs for easy layups. Jadis also has some nice handles, which he used to get in the lane for score at the rim.
Hayden Sprenkel 6’2″ North County: One of the most impressive 3-point shooters in the camp, Sprenkel opened up the first game with three consecutive treys, each being a little further than the last one. He is a strong kid who handles the ball well and moves without the ball effectively. He constantly got to the open spots to unleash his jumpers.
Traveon Jefferson 6’7: Wentzville Holt: A long athletic post player who gave an excellent effort throughout the camp. His game is still developing offensively, but he did an excellent job of attacking the offensive boards for put-backs. He also ran the court quite well, which resulted in some other layups. Very impressed with his effort and motor.
