Tremaine Banks 6’2″ Grandview: This young man flashed a smooth offensive game throughout the day. Banks displayed some nice handles and got to the bucket with ease and finished with layups and short jumpers. He pushed the pace and and slowed things down and stayed under control. He has a nice pull-up jumper from 15 feet and made his share of 3-pointers. A nice player.
Nick Balanda 6’2″ Marquette: A bouncy wing player who made quite an impression in leading his team to a victory over a talented Grandview team. His go-to move was the pull up from 15-17 feet, which he made several throughout the day. He goes hard and stops on the dime and gets excellent elevation on his jumper, which also has an high-arc to it. Very athletic player who also plays football and baseball.
Jack Ehrhardt 6’1″ Lebanon: Solidly built combo guard who handles the ball with strength and confidence. Handled pressure well and could get to the basket and finish through contact. His good handles enabled him to create his own offense plus he could knock down 3-pointers if you leave him open. Displayed a nice touch around the rim on his aggressive drives to the basket.
Rontay Hudson 6’0″ Ruskin: A powerfully built point guard who played bully-ball against any opposing defender who tried to get too close to him when he had the ball. Players were bouncing off of him as he made his way to the bucket. He did a nice job of getting to the basket and finishing at the rim. I also liked his ability to see the court and find open teammates for easy buckets.
Mason DeVries 6’1″ Warrensburg: Strong wing player with a body built for contact. He has the ability to score inside or from the perimeter. He was comfortable posting up in the lane where he used his strength to score inside. He was equally effective off the dribble where he could power his way to the basket. He also got out and scored in transition on several occasions.
Cale Cucanan 6’2″ Warrensburg: Was very impressive in the two games that I watched during the camp. A solid wing player who had the ball in his hands much of the time and was very comfortable with it. He handled the ball well and was always looking to go someplace to make a play. He is a good, rangy athlete with a nice mid-range game and the ability to score through contact.
