Intriguing Matchups
9:00 AM: Poly vs. Calvert Hall
Some serious talent will be on display during this early matchup. Look for 2018 Brendan Adams of Calvert Hall to match up with DeMetrius Mims of Poly. Adams is an athletic wing who has become a recruiting target for Towson in 2018. He also holds an offer from Kansas State. Mims is 6-foot-5 shooting guard who defend can score at all 3 levels. He holds offers from St. Johns, VCU, and Old Dominion.
10:00 AM: Clinton Christian vs. Sidwell Friends
While they don’t play the same position, two of the hottest prospects in the DMV region right now have to be Jelani Williams and Jermaine Harris. Harris, a Georgia native, is a 6-foot-9 power forward who gets better each time he hits the court. Rutgers, Miami, Rhode Island, Kansas State, Maryland, George Mason, Georgetown, Xavier, and Penn State have each been in recent contact with the rising junior big man. Williams, a 6-foot-5 point guard, has been on an absolute tear since his recent return from injury. The high IQ lead guard is being recruited by Princeton, Rice, Boston U, Loyola, James Madison, Penn, Colgate, Hofstra, and Old Dominion.
11:00 AM: Poly vs. Mt. Carmel
Terry Nolan Jr. has been making plays this spring and summer with Baltimore United. The athletic guard has just received offers from NJIT, Loyola, and Quinnipiac. Nolan is a recruiting target for Towson, so they’ll likely keep close tabs on this one. Another player to watch in this matchup is 6-foot-6 small forward De’Vondre Perry. Another Towson target, the strong and powerful wing is also being touted by VCU, George Mason, Saint Joseph’s, Kansas State, Temple, Seton Hall, UCF, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Southern Cal, and Old Dominion among others.
12:00 PM: Sidwell Friends vs. Woodside
Tahjay Jacobs, a class of 2017 wing, will likely draw the responsibility of defending Jelani Williams in this contest. Jacobs is the best defender and leader for the Wolverines, and has demonstrated high upside given his length and sneaky athleticism along with his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. While his recruitment is still in it’s early stages, it should begin to expand as the summer live period draws nearer.
1:00 PM: Bishop McNamara vs. Hill School
Makhi Mitchell, a promising, 6-foot-8 power forward for McNamara has a super bright future. Already claiming offers from Virginia Tech, Georgetown, and Cincinatti, the best is yet to come for the skilled, strong, and talented rising sophomore big man.
2:00 PM: Team Durant 15U vs. St. Georges
6-foot-5 rising sophomore RJ Blakney has shown a significant this spring with Team Durant. The long, athletic, and crafty wing plays above the rim and loves to get up and down in the open court. Given his motor, high level athleticism, and defensive potential, it’s only a matter of time before his recruitment begins to unfold.
3:00 PM: Calvert Hall vs. Bishop McNamara
Jamir Moultrie, one of the top guard prospects in the DMV region, is a must-see player in this contest. The super skilled lead guard has the ability to play on or off the ball, and is a super tough paint getter who finishes consistently in traffic. Virginia Tech, George Mason, Murray State, Butler, GW, Southern Cal, Memphis, and West Virginia have all offered Moultrie, who is also a top target for Towson in 2017.
