The Tri-Valley standout plays power forward on the court and tight end/defensive end on the football field not just because of his size but because of his agility and skill at those positions.
Will also plays for the BBA Force who has only lost a couple games through three events this year.
“Spring AAU went really well,” Will said. “My team and I played very well against the competition we played.
“It’s always fun to play on a team like BBA where you’ve played with the same kids for a few years and you can just start the season off right, right away.”
Will has a big summer in front of him in terms of improvement of skill and his physical frame.
“I would like to improve on ball handling and seeing the whole floor,” said Steineke. “The parts I feel have improved were my post defense and my perimeter offense such as driving to the basketball and pull up jump shooting.
“As far as to the end of the month it’s all about getting into shape to play summer ball, which is way different from school ball.
“My goals would be to improve my all around game. It is also to do anything to help my team win. I would like to compete and win at all of our remaining tournaments though the end of the summer.”
There are several programs in both sports that are interested in Will for the college level.
“I’ve heard from Dakota State and Mount Marty for basketball, and Northern State, Dakota Wesleyan, and Morningside for football.
“For school I want to go to one that has a big following for whatever sport I choose and would like to major in something in the medical field.”
