The 6’1″ Crockett has the ability to score in a variety of ways. He can get buckets from almost anywhere on the court. His 20-points a game average during his junior year at U.City is a testament to his ability to score.
“I’ve been really working on my game as a scorer,” Crockett said. “I’m a slasher who can get to the basket pretty easy, but I can do other things.”
Crockett was one of the top players at last week’s Lindenwood University Team Camp in St. Charles, Mo. Lindenwood’s coaching staff got a good look at him throughout the final day of the camp and he performed well offensively.
Crockett’s is physically strong and he uses that strength to successfully get to the basket and finish plays at the rim. He made his share of pull up jumpers from the mid range area and also knocked down some 3-pointers off the catch. He is a difficult match up because of his ability to score at all three levels. He even has his own signature move which is a step-back, fadeaway mid-range jumper while kicking his right leg out. It looks like a move right out of the 1970’s, but it has become a potent weapon in his arsenal.
“I like that fade-away jumper,” Crockett said. “That’s my go-to move.”
As a junior, Crockett stuffed the stat sheet as he averaged 20.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals a game. He shot 57 percent from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range, making 57 treys.
During the summer, Crockett plays for the Rocktown Elite 17U team out of St. Louis. During the month of June, he will also attend the Louisiana Tech Elite Camp.
