Speed in the open floor is a major factor in his success as a transition player. Confident taking it to the rim! Slick passer with the ball in his hands. Can be a little wild and over dribble at times in the half court, but a lot to like with this young floor general from Nazareth.
Thornton spoke about his sophomore year at Nazareth and how his team is gradually coming together as they all came in as freshman at the same time.
“We are improving slowly, but we have to make baby steps to keep improving because we can’t keep going on with the same bad records. We met last year and didn’t know each other. We are slowly meshing together to get better so that is important for us.”
He enjoys playing for Meanstreets 16U on the grassroots circuit.
“The ability for me to pass the ball to these guys and make their own plays or for me lead them open for shots. It is incredible playing with people of this caliber.”
Where has he seen improvements in his game?
“I have been working on my shooting. It is slowly coming along, but is not where I want it at yet.”
