The rising senior hit 81 threes on 49% shooting for Coach Doug Craig at W.T. Woodson last year. In a win during BSN Summer League on Sunday, Aigner recorded 7 triples on his way to 30 points. While he is regarded among the premier long range marksmen in the state, Aigner also has the ability to impact the game in a number of other ways.
“I’m a shooter with a high IQ. Take charges on defense. And I rebound,” Aigner began. “I don’t think people realize how well I rebound and how well i box out.”
A host of Division 3 programs are actively recruiting Aigner, who sports a very impressive 3.7 GPA. Randolph Macon has offered him a spot on their team. Division 1 schools such as Lafayette and Monmouth have expressed interest in the talented shooting guard. This summer with Higher Level Premier, he is preparing to take advantage of his prolific shooting ability to help expand his game.
“I’m trying to get my mid range better so I can pump fake and go off the dribble and shoot,” Aigner explained. “Not just be a spot up shooter.”
Aigner’s mother, Debbie Tanneyhill, was a coach at George Mason when he was younger. He has been playing the game for his whole life. Aigner will be asked to handle the ball a bit for Woodson, and believes he will need to improve that aspect of his game heading into the high school season.
