But shooting isn’t all he does. Brown was a point guard most of his basketball career, then transitioned to more of a scoring role upon transferring to Bloom Carroll a year ago.
“I used to play point guard … I can bring it up and play the point if you need me to or I can play shooting guard,” Brown said.
He has embraced that new role, realizing that shooting is his best skill. It has drawn the interest of a number of schools, including an offer from Alderson Broaddus (West Virginia), and looks from Shawnee State, Ohio Dominican, Urbana, Malone, and Walsh.
“I’m mostly a three-point shooter, that’s what I do best. But I also try to set screens for my teammates to get them open, which also gets me open … Off the dribble or off-screen shooter,” Brown said.

“I just need to play stronger. I don’t drive as much as I should. Since I can shoot, that usually leaves a lane for me to drive or dish. So that’s what I need to mostly improve on.”
All things considered, Brown is thriving right now. He mentioned that much of the college interest he’s receiving has come recently.
Two weekends ago, playing with VCC Nova at the All-Ohio Nike Midwest Future Stars Showdown and Showcase in Columbus, Brown tallied eight 3-point field goals on two separate occasions.
Amongst an AAU team of next level talents, Brown is the guy that has stuck out this summer.
Even though he’s 6’3”, the guy is lengthy and has an unmatched motor on defense. Offensively, well, as mentioned, he absolutely kills from deep. Demoralizes the opponent.
So, where will Brown end up?
“Mostly D-II, as of right now. That’s what my dad thinks and most coaches, that’s who I’ve been talking to the most,” Brown said.
However, given the recent improvements, don’t be surprised if he begins attracting the eyes of mid-major D-I programs. His shooting translates to all levels.
