Youso was a young elementary kid when Virginia was last at state but the whole town remembers the excitement and he’s the type of talent that could help get them back.
What types of things do guys that want to be high level players do? They play on quality grassroots basketball teams and Youso plays with the Minnesota Comets 16U team that is 19-6 so far this season.
“Spring was a learning process for our team as we looked for our identity and found our strengths and weaknesses,” Ethan said. “Everyone improved and enjoyed the experience. Spring helped me gain confidence and get used to the physicality of the game at a higher level.
“Going forward I want to improve my explosiveness and finishing around the basket.”
College basketball is also in the future of Youso and this summer he’s getting an early feel for college hoops by attending camps in several spots.
“I’ve heard from St John’s in St. Cloud and Minnesota-Duluth has spoken to me and several schools including Yale have asked about me,” Ethan said. “I don’t have any visits upcoming, but I do have camps at Northern Iowa, St. John’s, and Minnesota-Duluth. I just had a camp at Augustana last weekend.”
And what is Ethan thinking about his junior year?
“I think we’ll be the strongest team in the section and in the conference next season,” Ethan said.
