The 6-foot-4 2017 had been hearing from Salisbury when we talked with him last year, and has since picked up interest from two New York schools.
“I’ve picked up additional interest from St. John Fisher and also some from a school in Buffalo called Medaille. The St. John Fisher coach sent my coach mail during the season and the Medaille coach was at my summer league game and he said he’ll continue to watch me,” said Harshman.
“We have a couple big tournaments coming up, and hopefully I can get an offer or so more interest.”
Known as just a shooter in the past, the good-sized wing has been working plenty to shed that image, and though he’s still a good shooter, he’s diversified his game.
“I’ve been better at offensive rebounding and defensive rebounding. And I’m better at being able to score in different areas other than just shooting. I’ve always been a shooter but not I’m attacking more, and getting offensive rebounds and putbacks, stuff like that,” said Harshman, who said he had a decent junior season with the Lions.
“I think I did good, and I had a big impact with the team. We didn’t have a lot of size so I had to guard the taller guys on the other team and I think I did a good job.”’
He’ll spend his summer playing on the 17U live period circuit with Team Choo Smith. And then it’s back to his high school team, where he’ll spend his fall preparing for his senior season.
“This year I’m a senior so I’ll have to score the ball a lot because we lost some key guys from last year,” said Harshman. “And I’m looking to be the team’s leader this season.”
