ECI is 10-10 on the season after winning all four of their games in the recent ECI Spring Preview. Reed is excited to be in the middle of one more ECI season.
“It’s nice, nice to play with kids that aren’t really affiliated with you,” Reed said. “The competition is always good wherever you go, it’s also nice that I’ve played with the same guys for three spring/summers as well.
“I think I’m doing well but keep pushing to get better and noticed, tournaments are fun, just keeping working and see where we end up.”
Reed is becoming a more versatile guard increasing his talent to do several things at each guard position.
“I think I would like to see myself improve on my ball handling, but something I’ve gotten a lot better at is being able to change speeds and still be under control as well as being able to play at my own speed,” Austin said.”
Reed is a three sport standout that could go to the college level and play any of the three sports.
“I’ve heard from Concordia-Moorhead for football and basketball, Lake Region State for basketball and golf, Jamestown for basketball, Minnesota-Crookston for football and basketball.”
What sport will he play? Where will he play? That is very unclear but Austin is working to build those options. Right now he just wants to see the ECI Prospects record improve when they play in St. Cloud, Milwaukee, and Sioux Falls this summer.
“I want to keep doing well in tournaments and keep getting looks by different schools,” Austin said.
