Continue ReadingA fluid big man with good size and great hands is a desirable recruit in the basketball world. That explains the recent spike in recruitment for 6’9” Armando Bacot. After enjoying a solid freshman season for Trinity Episcipoal, Bacot has blown up in recent months on the AAU circuit.
Bacot is a big time rebounder who carves out space in the paint to establish his presence. He has displayed a unique ability to score with his back to the basket at such a young age. “I model my game after a couple of guys, Demarcus Cousins and Jahlil Okafor to be specific,” stated the rising sophomore.
When speaking about his game, Bacot explained “ I think my strengths are my ability to score the ball, in the post or in pick and pop situations. However, I need to get better defensively, have to be able defend ball screens.”
Bacot evaluates his game with a nice maturity. While he has to continue to get his body in better shape, his advanced skill set and size have made him a big time prospect out of Virginia. Already holding offers from JMU, VCU, UCF, Georgia Tech, and Richmond, Bacot recently pulled his latest offer from Penn State after elite camp. The young big man has landed on the radar of a number of power five schools such as UVA, Arizona, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland and more.
“I just want to continue to get better, go undefeated and dominate the competition in July,” elaborated Bacot
With such positive approach to his development combined with success early look for Bacot’s game and recruitment to continue to take off.
