Kansas, NC State, Kentucky, St. John’s, UCLA, Georgetown, Rutgers, UCONN, Arizona State, Seton Hall, TCU, Georgia Tech, USC, Butler and Mississippi State are the finalists for his services. Rafus scored 16 points in his first contest at NBPA Top 100 Camp, helping lead his team to a good victory. An underrated defender, Rafus has worked very hard to get to where he is on that end. He wants to continue to improve on that side of the ball until it becomes his calling card.
“We played as a team, we played very well. I’m just working on all my weaknesses. That’s basically it,” Rafus stated about his performance at Top 100 Camp. “I think I’m very good on the defensive end. I want to be a lockdown defender. I want to get to the point where absolutely no one can score on me. So that’s mainly the goal.”
Given the length and athleticism Rafus displayed, he can certainly achieve his goal if he continues to work. In order to take his game to the next level, leadership is another thing he is really focusing on. Being a good teammate and doing whatever it takes to win.
“I’m working hard. Continuing to work hard,” Rafus said. “To be a leader. To do everything on the floor.”
A natural small forward, Rafus has ideal size, athleticism, and length to play the 3 or even some stretch 4 at the next level. The lefty has the ability to fill it up at a high level, especially from long range. Regardless of where he lands, Rafus has made it clear he’s willing to do whatever is asked of him in order to win.
