Boulder Creek returns a good balance of Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores. They have fielded two varsity groups that have both been competitive. Although they lost some quality seniors last year like Nick Johnson & Matt Downey. Coach Ryne Holstrom feels that their juniors are ready to step up in leadership roles, and they will have a lot of depth at each position. For the Jaguars summer is all about competing and making the most out of opportunities. Players get the opportunity to expand their roles from the previous season. It gives their younger players an opportunity to play up. As a coaching staff its their first chance to see who is ready to make the jump to the varsity level.
So far, each varsity group has only played 3 games. This will start to pick up as they finish out the summer playing a lot more. The Jags are also heading up to the NAU team camp at the end of June. Partly to get out of the heat, but more to have fun and build team chemistry.
