PF/SF Justin Nwosu (District Basketball Club)
Justin demonstrated solid versatility on both ends of the court. The stocky, 6-foot-5 forward is a strong finisher who seeks and absorbs contact around the rim. He showcased a nice skill set and the ability to handle the ball and make plays for himself and others while in possession of it. He has a high basketball IQ and a soft touch from mid range.
PF/SF Nate Spurlock (District Basketball Club)
Nate is a high energy forward who exhibits an underrated skill set. The lefty can stretch the floor from three point range, but also has a nice finishing touch around the basket. He runs the floor hard, and has good footwork in the low post. At 6-foot-7, the rising junior is still growing, having sprouted about another inch since the end of basketball season.
SG/SF Ayush Mayur (District Basketball Club)
Ayush played with a ton of energy, particularly on the defensive end. At 6-foot-5, he’s very long and does a great job in help defense. He’s adept at reacting to loose balls and reading passing lanes. While he’s regarded as a long range sharpshooter, the rising junior did a nice job mixing it up and attacking the basket off the bounce. Given his high academics in conjunction with his prolific touch from long range, he should be targeted by Ivy League schools.
SF Drew Friberg (Team Takeover Black)
While his team was shorthanded this weekend, Pennsylvania native Drew Friberg picked up the slack in a variety of areas. The 6-foot-7 forward did his due diligence on the glass and did a nice job operating out of the high post offensively. He’s a dead eye shooter from long range, and also has a nice touch from mid range. He did a great job attacking closeouts and finished efficiently around the basket. He understands spacing and when to make cuts to the rim. Another high academic student, Ivy League schools should hope to steal him from mid-to-high major conference programs.
SG/SF Myles Dread (Team Takeover Black)
Myles brings a ton of energy and passion to the court each time he suits up. He’s a strong guard with great vision and an unselfish demeanor. He can finish efficiently in traffic and curl off screens and hit from long range. He always boxes out, and has good hands when attacking the boards.
PG Tre Wood (Team Takeover Black)
Tre is a fluid athlete who demonstrates high level explosiveness when attacking the basket. A capable three-point shooter from the catch, Wood attacks closeouts with aggression and enjoys creating for his teammates but also finishes through contact around the basket. He’s a solid defender who understands how to use his speed and quickness to his advantage. He’s a crafty speedster who can get up the floor in a hurry, but is also starting to learn to pull it back and orchestrate an offense. Given his high level athleticism along with his playmaking ability, he is a solid mid-major point guard candidate.
PG Darius Hines (Team Takeover Orange)
Darius is an old school floor general who can make plays for himself as well as others. He’s a very crafty and skilled ball handler who can handle pressure with relative ease. He is a prolific mid-range jump shooter off the bounce, and can stretch the floor off the catch with efficiency from long range. He’s got a great feel for the game defensively, where he knows how to move his feet and will take charges.
PF/SF Ian Robertson (Team Takeover Orange)
Delaware native Ian Robertson owns a robust frame to go along with a high motor. The lefty can hit from long range from the catch, but has shown the ability to mix it up and attack the basket off the bounce. He’s a strong finisher around the rim, and is a solid rebounder who boxes out and crashes the boards on both ends.
