Continue ReadingMarcus Shaver has transferred into Shadow Mountain High School. His name shouldn’t be new to basketball junkies in Arizona. Shaver starred at local Saint Mary’s High School where he went on a tear his first two years as a Knight. His stock was soaring and he quickly was pressured to explore transferring to a national prep program.
When it was all said and done he decided to become apart of the program at PrimeTime Prep which was founded by former NFL star Deion Sanders. The program folder and he joined Advanced Prep International where he spent time continuing to work on his game and catch up on credits so he can graduate in the 2017 class on time however in the end the academics didn’t line up and he ended up in Las Vegas where he was at Trinity International in Las Vegas where finally the academics were on point.
This past spring he is played on the AAU circuit with the Las Vegas Prospects, and will play in July with them as well where he will look to continue to pick up division 1 interest as he faces some of the best competition in the country in the NIKE EYBL.
Fast forward to August he will be at Shadow Mountain High School, where head coach Mike Bibby has turned back into a power like when Jerry Conner was coaching the Matadors in the 80’s & 90’s. Coming off a state championship, Shadow looks to compete again for a repeat, despite losing Mike Bibby Jr & JJ Rhymes, the squad will bring back Jaelen House, Darion Spottsvile & Jovan Blackshear, add Shaver to the mix and you have a deadly squad on the hardwood.
