Brandon Hurt (Marian Catholic)
The Marian Catholic point guard has proven with Team Rose this spring he can handle the point guard duties that sometimes he has to share with Chase Adams on his high school team. Hurt is a strong lead guard that has improved his feel in the half court and ability to get others involved. Also is a plus pull up jump shooter from mid-range and can stretch it to three on occasion. He has put himself in the low-major and possibly mid-major discussion in 2018.
Amir Brummett (Decatur MacArthur)
Brummett is a combo guard from central Illinois that has displayed the ability to both score and distribute. When playing on the ball Brummett will make some spectacular dishes. Also turns it over from time to time, but is still learning the position as he more of a natural off guard. Deep range on his three point shot and can get scorching hot from beyond the arc. Should be on the D1 radar.
Ahmad Muhammad (St. Joseph’s)
Muhammad is coming off a solid high school season where he took it up another notch in the second half of the season. He is running with Kessel Heat 16U this spring where he is one of the primary ball handlers. He is quick and twitchy with the rock in his hands being able to get in the lane where he likes to use a 15 foot jumper and runner to convert.
DeAndre Heckard (Romeoville)
Heckard is a 6’1” wide shouldered Romeoville High School standout that has a long and projectable body at the guard position. He is a combo guard that can slide over and play some point when needed. Strong with the ball attacking and is very smooth with it in transition. Drive and kick ability as a distributor. Streaky shooter from the perimeter.
David Forrest (Foreman)
The Foreman rising junior is a physical guard with a thick upper body where he can overpower weaker defenders. Very powerful driving to the hoop finishing with layups and runners. Improving perimeter shooter. Rebounds well for a guard. The 2018 prospect could be a D1/D2 player down the line with more development.
