Buena is 261-97 in the last 12 years. They went 19-9 last year but had their string of consecutive state tournament appearances ended at 11.
Buena started two freshmen last year. Grant Ward is a 6’4 guard he averaged 9.3 points a game as a Freshmen. Kino Bellinger was Buena’s starting “2” and averaged 11.3 points per game and hit 59 threes in 21 varsity games. Dominic Mooney averaged a little over 9 points a game as a Sophomore. 6’5 Junior to be Cyrus Thomas is Buena’s sleeper. Transfer Trai Powell who is going to be the varsity football’s quarterback will provide toughness and leadership.
Buena always looks to be a competitor in the summer and it starts in summer leagues, jamborees and workout where fundamentals are stressed.
