Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon)
Horton-Tucker has completely evolved in his game over the last year. He has slimmed down, gotten more athletic, and displayed his versatility. Horton-Tucker can beat defenses with his spot up three point shooting and crafty finishes in traffic. Stat sheet stuffer that is also a plus rebounder. Steady climb lands Horton-Tucker as the top small forward in the state.
Armon Brummett (Decatur MacArthur)
Brummett is just a flat out bucket getter. It doesn’t matter what grassroots team he is playing with he just scores. The Decatur MacArthur rising junior has deep range on his three point shot out to beyond NBA range. Every time he lets it fly you think it is going in. His power allows him to get in the lane and finish through contact. Complete scorer that can get buckets at all three levels.
Quinlan Bennett (Proviso East)
Bennett has showed a diverse and versatile game this spring for Kessel Heat 16U. The rising junior is a projectable wing with size at 6’3” and length. The 2018 prospect from Proviso East plays with high energy diving after loose balls on the floor. Smooth with the rock in his hands especially in transition. Displayed a nice passing feel and brought the ball up quite a bit initiating the offense. Defensively he is intriguing with his length, lateral quickness, and anticipation. Should be a kid low-majors start to monitor.
Bakari Simmons (Simeon)
Simmons is a lefty wing with good size and strength. The forward stand outs with his passing on the perimeter particularly out of the high post where he finds cutters with ease. Plus outlet passer as well. Not a consistent shooter yet, but has potential hitting a three every now and then. Flashes the immense ability, but needs to show it on a game in and game out basis.
Ryan Kutsor (Lake Zurich)
Kutsor was lights out shooting the basketball late in the spring for Kessel Heat 16U. Kutsor has solid strength and can really shoot it from deep. He is best off the catch. Showing growth in his game off the bounce and is tough mixing it up on the boards. Crisp movements and plays with a high IQ.
