As we approach a quiet month of June for club ball, several players had performances over the weekend that will have people looking forward to seeing them in July. Here are a few players that improved their stock via KP Price.
Jared Rodriguez 6’7″ F Mountain Ridge 2017 (AZ Power Elite 17U)- Versatility is a valued commodity in the game of basketball. Standing at 6’7″ and possessing the athleticism to play above the rim, “JRod” also showed a consistent shooting ability from deep and off the bounce. July will be a big month for him.
Andre Harris 6’6″ PF Red Mountain 2019 (Factory 16U)- Despite suffering an upset loss early Sunday, Harris was overall impressive on the weekend. In a changing game that devalues low post play, Dre is very skilled on the block. Depending on his growth, we are looking at a potential high major prospect.
Adonis Arms 6’5″ G Desert Vista 2016 (Team Phoenix)- Adonis showed the athleticism to make him capable of playing at the next level. A late bloomer, Arms should benefit significantly from a prep school year and looks to potentially become a low D1 player.
Dre Marin 6’0″ G Apollo 2017 (Factory 17U)- Dre has an opportunity with this Factory team to show the capability to operate on a team with good D1 size. Marin showed over the weekend that he can play the role of being a facilitator, or be the scoring threat from the perimeter that every team needs. Look for an impressive July from him, then for a monster senior season.
Malik Ondigo 6’10” F TBA 2017 (Factory 17U)- It was truly a dominant weekend from Ondigo, which is what you like to see from such a physical specimen. Already possessing mid major D1 defensive potential, Malik showed this weekend that his offense is progressing to the point where he could step onto a college campus a year from now and be a solid contributor from day one. Schools will be all over him in July.
Jared Martin 6’5″ G/F Saguaro 2018 (Alvin Gentry Elite 16U)- Jared is an all around solid player. Winning programs at every level need to find guys that can do a multitude of things well, and possess the size to play multiple positions. That is the mold that Martin is in. He does not try to play outside of himself, but rather plays whatever role he is placed in at an excellent level. There is no accident his team was so dominant on Championship Sunday.
