Xavier Johnson | 2019 | Team Takeover 15U
A true old school floor general, freshman point guard Xavier Johnson started off the day displaying a smooth and confident touch from mid range. As his confidence grew, his range expanded beyond the arc. The skilled creator does a great job feeding his bigs, and understands angles on his post entries. In their final contest of the day, Johnson scored a team-high 12 points, while knocking down a number of key free throws down the stretch.
EJ Jarvis | 2019 | Team Takeover 15U
EJ Jarvis scored a team-high 17 points in a win vs. Team TexasA lot of hype has recently been surrounding freshman EJ Jarvis, and to be quite honest, it’s very well deserved. At 6-foot-9, he exhibits terrific mobility to go along with a superb work rate. The lefty has a terrific touch, but also demonstrated a good feel on both ends of the floor. He contests shots, elevates, and finishes efficiently around the basket. He’s quickly solidifying himself among the finer prospects the DMV region’s 2019 class has seen.
Joe Bryant | 2018 | Boo Williams 16U
One thing that will always be consistent about Joe Bryant‘s game? His defense. The stocky, athletic guard anticipates well, and is super active in the passing lanes. He’s got great hands, and knows how to get in the paint and finish through contact.
Jay Heath | 2019 | Team Durant 15U
Jay Heath caught fire from long range for Team Durant, exhibiting a quick release to go along with range and confidence from the catch. He mixed it up nicely, getting into the paint where he showed off a nifty floater to finish in traffic. Defensively, his activity level was superb. The 6-foot-4 guard knows how to use his length and athleticism to annoy opposing ball-handlers.
Marvin Price | 2019 | Team Melo 15U
Marvin Price really got it going in the second half of Team Melo‘s contest vs. BABC. The well-built, 6-foot-4 freshman did a commendable job on the glass, and showed good versatility on both ends of the court. The lefty showed good explosiveness from the triple-threat, and good body control when finishing around the basket. He scored 16 of his team-high 20 points in the second frame of their win.
Bryce Golden | 2018 | Team Takeover 16U
Bryce Golden started off his first contest on fire, scoring a quick 9 points including a highlight and-1 dunk over a hopeless defender. At 6-foot-8, the sophomore power forward is incredibly nimble and athletic. He does an excellent job running the floor, and knows how to utilize his big strong hands to tightly secure the ball when he rebounds. He recorded a team-high 17 points and 6 boards in a win vs. Utah Basketball Club.
Jalen Smith | 2018 | Team Takeover 16U
Jalen Smith was active and very alert defensively, contesting shots with quick reactions and accurate timing. The long, 6-foot-8 forward owns strong mitts and knows how to secure possession from a rebound. He runs the floor w/an impressive motor, and can finish with high level athleticism. His soft touch was well noted, particularly from mid-to-long range. He recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a win vs. Utah Basketball Club.
