He opened the campaign producing at a high level, recording double-figure scoring numbers in 17 of his first 18 games played. As the team’s leading rebounder and shot-blocker, he averaged 12.8 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks over the course of the season.
Ever since he first started playing up the game around first grade, Yarbrough has embraced his role as a hustle guy. He described himself as a versatile player who won’t hesitate to go the extra mile for a win.
“I would describe myself as a scrapper. A hustle and gut player,” he explained. “I like to get to the rim and play big.”
He admits his shot needs some improvement, specifically from long range and the foul line, but also revealed that it was perhaps his most underrated attribute as a player. As he continues to improve that aspect, the junior, who sports a respectable 3.2 GPA, should see an uptick in his recruitment.
Yarbrough is running on the AAU circuit this spring summer with the Nova Cavaliers 17U squad coached by Doug Sawitzky. His versatility on both ends of the floor, along with his terrific motor and IQ should see him earn ample playing time, as he looks to continue his high rate of production. They will travel to Philadelphia, PA this weekend where they will compete in the Rock the Rim Tournament.
