Wright scored 11.3 points per game, he was second on the team in boards at five a contest, improved his shooting to hit 67 percent of his field goals overall and over 36 percent of his treys, and he is one of the toughest players as well as one of the best Hopkins defenders.
Wright joined the Minnesota Comets this year and the choice has worked out favorably. The Comets are 10-2 with the only losses being to D1 Minnesota and Illinois Irish while they have solid wins over the SYF Players and Playground Elite amongst others.
“I love my team, I feel like we play really well together, and our confidence is at an all time high,” Wright told NHR.
Simon is giving the Comets a team high 13.3 points per game in the NY2LA Basketball league making 65 percent of his shots, 36 percent of his treys, and he is the team’s leader on the glass. Simon knows this is just a start though.
“I want to constantly improve everything, but I really feel that I need to improve my flexibility and ball handling abilities,” Wright said “I have gotten my shot better, but also I have improved my work ethic during games.”
This April Simon has been offered by North Dakota, North Dakota State, Furman, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Elon plus others are showing interest.
“I’m hearing from North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northeastern, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Furman, Elon, Wright State, Denver, San Diego, South Dakota, Wofford, Belmont, and more,” Wright told NHR.
Simon and his teammates at the Comets have done in the NY2LA league and also have a SPTS league that starts this weekend. Wright has his summer goals set.
“I want my team to win the NY2LA league, and I would like to continue to get more offers,” Simon said.
