Fox has helped the Minnesota Heat Vang squad to a fourth place spot so far in the SPTS (6-2) and they are 15-5 overall for the season which is good for 6th overall in Minnesota’s 17U rankings.
“The first couple (months) of AAU has been great,” Fox stated. “We just got back from a great tournament where we really came together, we truly are a team. We all want to share the ball and look for a great shot.
“We have been finding ways to win starting at the defensive end, which leads into our strong transition game! The rest of the season should be exciting. We are traveling a lot, and playing good basketball against great competition. I know this team is going to continue to come together and do special things.”
Parker obviously is excited about what he’s done in the last seven months of basketball but he has even bigger goals going forward.
“My goal is find the right school for me with great academics, and play basketball at the highest level I can,” Fox said.
“Personally, I want to continue to improve my strength, jump shot, ability to defend. I want to continue to improve aspects of my defense, rebounding, add more pieces to my game so that every time I catch the ball I am a threat to score or open up a teammate for a good shot.
“My game has improved tremendously over the last year. I have worked hard on toughness and defending. It is an important part of the game which leads to offensive moves that get me into the lane to find different ways to finish around the rim, along with making the right pass for a great team shot.”
At Parker’s size, agility, and production it’s obvious that college interest will come his way, likely at the scholarship level.
“In the last month or so I have heard from Air Force, North Dakota State University, South Dakota, Furman, Cornell, Southwest Minnesota State, University of Sioux Falls, Winona State, Augustana, Minnesota State-Moorhead, Concordia-St. Paul, Bemidji State, Truman State, Briar Cliff, and Assumption College.
“Also, Southwest Minnesota State, Winona State, and Concordia-St. Paul have been to practices recently.”
Fox scored 584 points in 27 games which is quite impressive after putting up 14 points in only three games as a sophomore. A huge improvement over a year’s time so, what is next?
