Continue ReadingKeondre Schumacher is a low-major prospect that can flat out shoot the rock. At 6’0” the Normal U-High point guard is best when spotting up as a catch and shoot guy or pulling up off the bounce for three. Moves well without the ball after initiating the offense. Solid feel for the game and showed improvement as a decision maker.
Schumacher discussed his junior season.
“We had a pretty good record going 24-5, but we didn’t end the way we wanted too. Came up short in regionals. We were trying to get to Manual, but we came up a little short. I think I played well. Handled the ball well and shot it well. Still working on my defense, but I did good overall.”
When his game is rolling what does he bring to the table?
“I can handle the ball, find my teammates when they are open, and I can knock down shots off the pass or off the dribble.”
He updated us on his recruitment.
“I am getting looked at by Yale, Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, SMU, and Drake.”
Schumacher runs with All-In/Young & Reckless 17U on the circuit.
