Vollbrecht is now a part of the Minnesota Comets 17U squad that has had so much success early in the season.
“I am extremely excited for the rest of the summer to play out,” Vollbrecht told NHR.
“The team is starting to come together more and more and leading to a lot of success. Love the group of guys Chris put together and hoping to win the new NY2LA league.”
Vollbrecht was one of the top metro scorers and as a 6-foot-8 power forward putting up the numbers he did, Jimmy still has things he wants to work on to become a more productive player.
“I need to improve on toughness around the rim and finishing more consistent. I’ve improved on my shooting consistence from the perimeter and starting to be able to score the ball from anywhere on the court.
“As I said before hope to win the new NY2LA league and also win the Sanford league. Personally I hope to play my best basketball down the stretch of the summer and then carry it over to the school season.”
Several college programs are following Jimmy at the moment at the D1 and D2 level.
“This month I’ve heard from Winona State, Bemidji State, U of Mary, and the American assistant coach talked to me on my way down to Dallas,” Jimmy said.
“Augustana sends me basic mail. In the past I’ve heard from Northern State, Navy, and Minnesota-Crookston.”
