Continue ReadingJason Wade, a class of 2017 guard out of Hanover High School, has been a stand out at the 2016 Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest. While running with River City Reign Manns 17U, the well-built guard has shown an explosive first step which makes him tough to defend off the bounce. He believes that most people underrate his adept paint getting ability, and mentioned a few reasons why he thinks so.
“I’m a big guard who can get to the basket and finish,” Wade explained. “They think I’m slow, but I’m not, I’ve got quick feet and I blow past people.”
While his build, athleticism, and explosiveness are well-suited for the next level, Jason explained that he is focused on improving his jump shooting and touch from the foul line. Campbell offered Jason a scholarship back in January, and he’s receiving interest from schools such as James Madison, Old Dominion, Longwood, Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, Rice, American, and Mount St. Mary’s.
Jason sports a solid 3.3 GPA in the classroom, and has taken visits to Old Dominion and Longwood. He doesn’t plan to take any more visits until after the July live period. Having been grossly under-recruited to this point, it surely won’t be long before Wade’s stock trends upward.
