Whiteman is a plus perimeter shooter and that is what he hangs his hat on. Improved as a ball handler over the last year. Whiteman is a quality small college prospect to track.
Whiteman led his team to the state final four in Peoria.
“High school season was a great experience. When you make it to state two years in a row after graduating Ethan Happ and Bryan Heath and still get back it is definitely a confidence booster. It is going to carry over to AAU hopefully.”
With the graduation of Heath he had to take on a much bigger scoring load.
“It was pretty easy because I didn’t have a lot of pressure on me with my teammates backing me up. If I had an off game they were there.”
He spoke about what he does well as a player.
“I am able to hit shots off the dribble. Getting in the paint and finishing in the paint is what I am working on. Shooting is definitely my strong suit.”
Whiteman has heard from a few small colleges.
“St. Benedict’s, St. Joseph’s, and Sioux Falls.”
He runs with Quad City Elite on the grassroots circuit.
