The 5’11” lefty point guard is quick and shifty with the ball with the ability to get in the lane with ease. Solid mid-range shooter that can stretch it out to three on occasion. Distribution skills are starting to come along and is a pesky defender. We caught up with the Wolverines lead guard to talk about his season at Simeon.
“It think it went great. It was a big step for me. I brought something new this year. I grew with my jump shot and my mid-range. Finding players and making people better.”
He ran down his current offer list.
“UAB, St. Louis, Dayton, Toledo, Loyola, and UIC.”
Any schools that are making him feel like a priority?
“All of them I have been talking to a lot. Haven’t heard from Toledo a lot lately.”
UAB is a school that recently stepped up to the table with an offer.
“They said their style of play fits my game. They really believe in me. They are looking for the best in me.”
Gilyard runs the point for Meanstreets on the Nike EYBL circuit.
