Canisius became the latest school to offer on Monday after Alderson got home from the Run N’ Slam in Indiana. The other three offers are Wright State, Central Michigan, and Toledo.
And thanks in large part to his school’s video coordinator, many other schools are inquiring.
“I have interest from Dayton, they’re in contact with me consistently, and Davidson. And my high school video coordinator sent out my highlights to a ton of schools around the country and they’ve been responding.”
Michigan’s 13th-ranked 2017, Alderson prides himself on being a versatile threat, who can play multiple positions.
“I’d say me versatility is unique, I can play the one through the four. I grew up playing point guard, but now I’m more of a wing,” said Alderson.
“My shooting has improved a lot, and my handles have gotten a little tighter, and I’m still working on that. And I’ve always had good vision, that’s always been a strong suit for me.”
After his former grassroots team Michigan Mustangs imploded, Alderson decided he’d spend his 17U season with newly-formed program MBA.
“My coaches push me everyday to be better at defense so I can guard every position, and they really need me to score in a variety of ways,” said Alderson.
“One of my goals is to get multiple Division I offers so I have more options out there. And then to elevate my game to the next level.”
So when does he want to make a college decision?
“I’m really just taking in all options, I don’t’ really know if I’m going to stay in Michigan or go a long way from home,” he said. “It’s just really what’s the best fit for me. And I’m not really sure of when I want to commit yet.”
