Continue ReadingDe’Ante Walker is new to the Illinois Irish, but the 5’10” United Township lead guard has found his role coming off the bench and the Irish don’t lose anything with him in the game. He is a good on ball defender that moves his feet laterally. Offensively he is a solid ball handler against pressure.
Walker spoke about his successful high school season.
“It was awesome. We were rolling from the start. Overall we had our ups and downs, but it was an awesome season. Coach really helped me with my decision making and passing. Where to pick the spots and find the shooters.”
What is the best part of his game?
“Getting to the hole, stop and pop, finding shooters, and getting everyone involved.”
He is enjoying playing with his new Illinois Irish team this spring.
“This team is great. They are awesome to play with. We have shooters, ball handlers, and everything.”
Colleges he has heard from include Cornell, Central Michigan, Arkansas Tech, Trevecca University, Wayne State, Holy Cross College, Grandview, and several more NAIA programs.
