When you look over his season for West Fargo Sheyenne you see a guy that averaged 12.2 points and five boards a game shooting 76 percent from the foul line, 44 percent from the field, and better than a third of his treys making 17 of 49.
Collin has also played extremely well for ECI Selects who is 11-10 on the year which is about 3-4 games better than we expected.
“My feelings toward my spring off AAU basketball are great,” Collin told PHD. “Our team has been doing pretty well and I am happy with how I have been playing.
“Playing wise I am happy with how consistent I have been with my play. I am happy with how I have been shooting from outside and attacking the basket more as the spring has came along.
“One thing I need to work on for this summer is my defensive positioning and effort at all times. Talking about the team we have improved a lot but I still feel we have a lot of work to do before we can play at the best I know we are capable of.”
Collin wants to become a better defender and a more versatile face-up player which has to excite all the schools looking in his direction.
“I would like to see myself improve on my defensive awareness and effort,” Collin said. “I would also like to improve my ball handling so I can be more of a threat on the perimeter and pushing the ball on a fast break.
“What I improved through the winter was mostly my three-point shooting and my back to the basket game. Another thing I think I improved on but still needs work was my timing on defense to go up and block shots.”
So what schools are talking to him right now? The list is long.
“In the past month or two I have talked to Concordia-Moorhead, the University of Jamestown, and the University of Mary has requested information,” Collin said.
“Overall I have been talked to by Concordia, Jamestown, Lake Region State, Minot State, the University of Minnesota Crookston, the University of Wisconsin- Superior, and the University of Mary.
“For place and major I want to go to a place that has the right fit for me. Major is really undecided as of right now.”
Collin is a focused guy but his summer focus is more general as he wants to enjoy the last three events with his ECI teammates.
“My goals for the rest of my summer are to improve all areas of my game and at the same time have fun with my teammates.”
