Qudus Abolaji | 2019 | Uncommon Bulls 16U
Qudus Abolaji is steadily improving under the guidance of the Uncommon Bulls coaching staff, as he continues to develop his already impressive skill set. The long-limbed 6-foot-11 sophomore owns a soft touch and commendable footwork on the low block, along with a high motor and strong hands when attacking the boards. He’s a natural rim protector, who displays instinctive timing and quick reactions when challenging shots.
Jamir Moultrie | 2017 | Baltimore Elite 17U
Jamir Moultrie had the hot hand throughout the afternoon for Baltimore Elite, showcasing the ability to elevate and hit from the perimeter especially from the bounce. He’s a crafty handler with a quick first step, good strength and body control when attacking the rim. Defensively, Jamir did an exceptional job moving his feet and being a vocal leader.
Mastadi Pitt | 2017 | Team Loaded VA 17U
Mastadi Pitt did everything he could to keep Team Loaded VA in the championship, with a burst of about 8 points in a 2 minute period. The stocky guard is a solid paint getter who seeks contact and finishes with a nice touch around the basket. He’s adept at creating his shot off the dribble, and has proved time and time again that he isn’t afraid of big moments.
Jermaine Harris | 2018 | DC Premier 16U
Jermaine Harris scored 17 points to lead DC Premier over We R 1 in the final four and advance to the 16U championship at the Southern Jam Fest. He’s a well-built power forward who demonstrated good versatility, as he operated comfortably out of the high and low post. He’s an unselfish player with good vision, and solid footwork to go along with a high motor and a soft touch.
Devante Carter | 2017 | Boo Williams EYBL 17U
Devante Carter’s solid performance this weekend marks two consecutive weeks of high level production by the lead guard, who will most likely prep into 2017. He’s a crafty handler who owns an explosive first step and sneaky bounce. He did a great job getting into the paint, where he set the table for his shooters or finished efficiently through contact. Defensively, he’s a solid rebounder who is quick to react in the passing lanes and isn’t afraid to put his body on the line and take a charge.
KJ Davis | 2017 | Team Loaded VA 17U
KJ Davis continues to show and improved all-around skillset, as he gets more comfortable with the ball in his hands. He was a big time threat on the perimeter, primarily as a result of his quick release. Defensively, he showed good instincts and versatility. He guarded multiple positions, and did a great job contesting shots at the rim.
Shyheim Gilkerson | 2018 | Uncommon Bulls 16U
Shyheim Gilkerson should be considered among the top on-ball defenders from the weekend, as he was consistently seen digging in and his man picking up 94 feet. It’s quite clear he takes pride in locking his man up, and uses his quickness and active hands to frustrate opposing ball-handlers. His fearless demeanor along with his high motor make him an attractive developing guard prospect.
