PG Markese Jacobs (Mac Irvin Fire 15U)
The 5’11” point guard from Uplift established himself this weekend among the premier 2019 prospects in the state of Illinois with his play. He was consistent game in and game out at the Swish N Dish. He is a quick and explosive guard with good handles that got in the lane at will against his opponents. He missed some shots on the interior, but also made a ton. Great at drawing contact at the rim and getting to the charity stripe with his strength. Capable three point shooter. Scoring point guard for sure! Defensively has good lateral quickness going side to side. One of the top lead guards in his class early on.
SF Isaac Stanback (Mac Irvin Fire 15U)
At 6’4” Stanback is a power wing. He uses his never ending motor and toughness to his full advantage. Best going downhill in transition where he finishes. He is a beast rebounder for a wing particularly on the offensive end where he gets quite a few points. Defensively he can get a rebound and take it coast to coast. Perimeter shot is shaky and will need to round out his game, but has some Jordan Goodwin type qualities to his game.
PF Spencer Boehm (Mac Irvin Fire 15U)
Boehm is a skilled four man that is crafty on the interior shooting a high percentage from the field. Don’t underestimate his athleticism though as he can get up above the rim for slams as well. He has mobility around the hoop which allows him to be a solid rebounder in and out of his area. Range stretches out to the perimeter where he can knock down a jump shot. Intriguing post to track.
SF Bryant Brown (Mac Irvin Fire 15U)
The 6’5” Brown is oozing with upside! He has a long and lanky frame with plus athleticism. Brown is extremely quick operating on the interior and getting his shot up. High points rebounds and can handle it himself going coast to coast. Didn’t show much on the perimeter as far as a shot, but lots of potential here!
SF Kahlil Whitney (Mac Irvin Fire 16U)
It was a learning weekend for the 6’6” small forward from Solorio. He put up monster numbers as a freshman against not so great competition. This was a huge test for him playing up on the 16U level against some of the best competition in the Midwest. He totally looks the part with a chiseled frame and big time athleticism. Smooth running up and down the floor and high points rebounds. Struggled offensively to find where he fit in on his team. The raw tools are without a doubt there however on both ends of the floor to be a big time talent. We will watch him closely as the spring progresses.
SF Malik Hall (Meanstreets 15U)
Hall made news by telling us he plans to reclassify to the class of 2019. Originally in the 2018 class Hall is young for his grade and feels that it is best for him to play two more years at Metea Valley and then head to prep school after that. There is a lot of like with the projectable 6’6” small forward. He has a long and lanky frame to go with a smooth game. Plus shooter from the perimeter that can really stroke it off the catch from beyond the three point arc. This is the strength of his game at this stage. Needs to show more off the bounce going forward. Solid area rebounder for his position.
SG Lance Jones (Meanstreets 15U)
Tough 6’1” shooting guard that is built like a corner back. The scoring guard is always in attack mode driving right at his man going to the hoop. Handles it well through traffic. Not a great shooter at this stage.
PG Kejuan Clements (Meanstreets 15U)
Clements is one of the better lead guards in his class. Saw minutes as a freshman for Simeon. He is a smooth operator on the perimeter with the ball in his hands. Plays under control and is confident at all times. Clements can hit a three point shot every now and then. Defensively his length causes problems for the opposing point guard. Like the upside here.
PF EJ Liddell (St. Louis Eagles 15U)
The 6’7” power forward from Belleville West has broad shoulders and big upper body. He knows how to use it too. Liddell is a beast on the glass. He uses his physical body to box out and be a volume rebounder. The way he rebounds the basketball is very impressive at a young age. Offensively shows flashes in the post, but isn’t a go to scorer at this stage. Did make one sweet mid-range jumper. On the defensive end he anchors as a post defender and blocks shots at a high rate. One of the best post prospects in the class.
PG Jamir Price (Quad City Elite 15U)
Price is a 6’0” guard from Rock Island High School. He has a long and angular frame. Best getting to the basket off the bounce and hitting the offensive glass for put backs. Prospect we will be closely watching at the upcoming NY2LA Association.
