PF Messiah Jones (Meanstreets 16U)
Jones is a 6’6” four man that should continue to grow a couple more inches. He has a long and angular frame. The Simeon standout is a big time shot blocking presence. Jones has an explosive burst off the floor when swatting shots. Rebounds well in and out of his area with his feel and quickness. Offensively he flashes post skill with hook shots every now and then. Excels on put backs and in transition. Perimeter game shows flashes as he can handle it in the open floor and has a passing flare. One of the more intriguing 2018 prospects in the state.
SF Devonire Glass (Meanstreets 16U)
Glass is a rangy 6’7” wing that transferred to Simeon from Indiana this past year, but didn’t get much time on the varsity level. He has a long and projectable body. Glass is most effective in the mid-range where he operates with a smooth pull up game. He can knock them down from 15-18 feet with ease. Also gets out in the transition game where he uses his long strides. Solid rebounder. Would like to see more consistency, but there is no doubting his talented as one of the top 10 kids in his class.
SG Justin Boyd (Meanstreets 16U)
The 6’3” shooting guard from Whitney Young is a sharp shooter from the perimeter. He was on fire to open the event from beyond the arc drilling four triples. Boyd is a plus shooter off the catch with a quick release and sound mechanics. When he gets on a roll it is OVER! This is by far the best part of his game at this stage, but he is a bouncy athlete that has a chance to round out his skill set.
PF Raekwon Drake (Meanstreets 16U)
Drake is a strong, super athletic, rugged, and undersized power forward at 6’6”. In their first game he struggled a bit going up against a legit seven footer in the post. As the weekend went on he showed what he does well. Drake is an energy guy that gets out in transition. He is a solid rebounder that uses his second jump and toughness to get second chance points on the interior. Good shot blocker for his size as he will come out of nowhere to block a shot. Not sure he is going to grow much more and will need to improve his skill level on the perimeter to reach his ceiling.
PG Cameron Donatlan (Meanstreets 16U)
Donatlan made an impact at Swish N Dish. The 6’2” point guard is a physical lead guard with size and length. Uses change of pace and hesitation to keep his opponent off balance. Takes it strong off the bounce to the hoop. Scoring point guard that can handle it.
PG Marquan Williams (Meanstreets 16U)
Williams is a 5’11” point guard that has a strong and compact body. He is quick and shifty with the rock in his hands. Williams is at his best in the open floor where he pushes the pace getting the ball up the floor fast and making plays for his teammates to score. As a scorer himself Williams excels with a pull up mid-range jumper and using his strength to attack off the bounce.
SG Armon Brummett (Team Manimal 16U)
Armon is a 6’4” shooting guard with strength and athleticism. He is a pure scorer! He plays with swagger and confidence. The 2018 wing has deep range on his jump shot, pulling up from Steph Curry territory. Very powerful when he has the ball in his hands and is going downhill. Slick handles in traffic. D1 prospect in the 2018 class.
PG Amir Brummett (Team Manimal 16U)
Amir is slightly different from his brother and teammate at Decatur MacArthur. He stands at 6’3” and is more of a scoring combo guard. Brummett is a powerful ball handler that can get in the lane where he looks to score and kick. When scoring he finishes with athleticism around the hoop. Also has ability as a passer. Potential as a perimeter shooter with range on his jumper out to three. Could be a D1 prospect.
