- Steffan Musoke, Rogers: Springy, high-potential, and 4.0 student. He likely could have pursued D2 opportunities or even high-academic D1, but he chose the reigning D3 national champs in St. Thomas and a full academic scholarship.
- Jalan Ousley-Brown, St. Paul Central: Bounce, bounce, bounce, this 6-3 wing ended his senior season early and transferred a couple miles over to Central. He’s enjoying a senior year of spring AAU where he will have his pick of high-level jucos.
- Melvin Newbern, Jr., Cooper: Melvin had a really nice year playing alongside his younger brother, and he went off in a few games to fill up the points column. Newbern is great around the hoop. He’ll head up north to D1 juco NDSCS.
- Sam Baker, Benilde-St. Margaret’s: Sam grew a lot in the last few years physically and skill-wise, and it paid off with a full ride to D2 Winona State. He’s part of a good in-state class for the Warriors, who are looking to reload after a coaching change.
- Allen Anderson, Osseo: His perfect season was thwarted in the state semifinals, but Allen was the point man for one of Osseo’s best seasons ever. He went out hitting buckets in that semifinal at Target Center. Like Jalan O-B, Allen is doing another spring with Grassroots AAU.
- Trenton Krueger, St. Croix Lutheran: Trenton impressed me a lot his senior year. I loved his production and assertiveness around the hoop in the state tournament, and I believe that Duluth is getting a good prospect.
- Bodey Behrends, JCC: Bodey’s length impacted several of JCC’s state tourney games as he collected rebounds and blocks like they were nothing. Elite D2 program Augustana is getting a high-potential big man.
- Nick Dufault, Waseca: Nick was already going to be remember for a long time around Waseca, then when he had this phenomenal game, his name was put on the national map. SW MN State is getting a dynamic guard and a really good kid.
- Sam Sustacek, Orono: Sam looked at some D1 and D2 options, but when it came down to a decision, the talented forward went high-academic with the U of Chicago. Another kid who was a part of an enjoyable and funny MN Select summer squad.
- Will Moreton, Edina: Will chose Stonebrook out east and proceeded to score points in bunches for the Hornets all winter. He’s a long, 6-6 wing who some are saying is a steal for the D2 level.
- Kent Hanson, SPA: The other half of SPA’s senior duo, Kent has done so much for that program. He is deciding on his final choice now, and there’s a good chance he goes high academic with a stellar transcript.
- Jubie Alade, Armstrong: Who says St. Thomas is getting all the good D3 recruits? Jubie is a very high-potential recruit who will likely make an impact from day one with Pat McKenzie in Collegeville.
- Brady Rudrud, Eden Prairie: This commitment almost isn’t fair. Rudrud spurned several D2 offers to commit to the Tommies, keeping the EP to UST connection alive and preparing to take over for fellow EP alum Grant Schaeffer at PG. Major, major pickup.
- Chris Olson, Braham: Olson committed to Moorhead State and will give them an instant spark in perimeter shooting. He was a part of a Braham state title team that worked so well in sync. His scoring — outside the stripe, at the hoop, etc. — wowed everybody.
- Ethan Novacinski, St. Cloud Apollo: A great pickup for McKenzie and St. John’s, this local kid and Comets AAU product has a chance to develop into a great MIAC player.
- Cedric Boone, Minnetonka: Here’s the highest-ranked recruit in a stellar MN group headed to Lake Region State. Coach Marshall invaded the state and came away with Boone, a talented yet thin guard who could be the next AJ Nywesh in a few years.
- Quinton Siebenahler, Luverne: One of the nicest and strongest kids all in the same prospect. Quinton looks like a D1 tight end, but he will pursue hoops at a destination that is as of yet undetermined. One of the best uncommitted big men around.
- Julian Jackson, Patrick Henry: Julian is a throwback with great post moves, footwork, and a strong GPA. He had a massive 40/20 game against Benilde in the playoffs and soon afterwards committed to UW-River Falls.
- Nate Albers, Mounds View: Albers was instant offense for MV the last few years. They made an improbable playoff run and beat several teams with more height, in large part thanks to Nate’s production. He joins an elite program in St. Olaf.
- Ben Scherer, Blaine: Big Ben was a part of a Northwest Heat AAU team that produced some high-level D2 recruits; he’s just one more example. Duluth gets a kid who can use his size and, with some additional training, could be a monster.
- Samm Jones, DeLaSalle: When De won their state title, everyone hugged Samm. His leadership and strong example to the younger kids meant a lot to his team this winter. He has recently visited Drake, Northwestern, and several other schools as he considers whether or not to continue with hoops.
- Eli Cave, Benilde-St. Margaret’s: Eli, like his teammate Sam, has come a long way over the last few years. He turned his raw length into polished coordination and will head down to Saint Mary’s as a big grab for coach Rusthoven.
- Jack Stensgard, Simley: Jack is maybe the most talented scorer still left uncommitted in MN. He carried a limited Simley team to the section title game with crazy range and no shooting conscience. His college decision will be very interesting, as a lot of teams would like to bring him off the bench for a spark.
- James Streeter, Totino-Grace: James recently committed to Lake Region, adding a moldable big man to a big Royals class. Who knows what James’ ceiling could be with two more years of development.
- Brady Kuchinka, Lake City: Brady wrapped up a great career at Lake City and committed to NAIA Waldorf in Iowa. He also spent two years on the top WOTN 17U team and brought so much to them in terms of energy and production.
