Plus shooter from three that is lethal off the catch. Can also jab step a couple times faking his man then pull up for three. Big time shooter that is strong with the rock in traffic. Smooth ball handler that gets where he needs to get his shot off and is effective in the mid-range. Passes it well showing a good flare for a wing especially on a few drive and kick opportunities. Low-majors need to get on him ASAP!
Couper spoke about his junior season.
“We had great senior leadership and Coach Winters is a great coach. He got us in the right space and we really gelled together as a team. Made it to the elite 8 which was one of our goals. We wanted to go downstate, but unfortunately we fell short. It was still a great year for us. I felt like I played really well getting MVP of the conference and all-state. I thought I played well this year for Boylan.”
When his game is at its best what does he feel he brings to the table?
“I can score in a bunch of different ways. I can shoot, get to the basket, and mid-range. Coaches have been telling me to diversify my game even more and be able to score in different ways as well as find my teammates and help them score.”
He is playing with Team RWA where he has made a name for himself.
“We are a great group of kids. We got together real easily. Everyone brings something to the table and we all noticed that. Try to put people in the best situation we can.”
The wing isn’t hearing from much on the recruiting trail at this point.
“The only schools I have talked to are Elon and Davidson.”
Look for Couper to make his debut in the next class of 2016 rankings somewhere in the top 30.
