The 6-foot-4 guard/forward hybrid has seen some early interest from three programs, but has yet to reel in his first offer, he’s hoping that comes by summer’s end.
“I’ve seen some interest from Hope College, they’ve sent me a few emails, and then University of Tampa Bay, and Wheaton College in Illinois,” said Holman, who further discussed his recruitment.
“It is a priority because I want to make sure I can get into the right school, and I really want to show coaches that I can play at the next level. So I’m going to work really hard at that, and just try and get out there and make myself known.”
Able to play inside and out, and not afraid to do the dirty work, Holman defined his style of play in his own words to PHM.
“I think something that makes me valuable is I’m very versatile. I can guard a big guy in the post, but I can also bring the ball up the floor. I think I made plays for my teammates, and I made them better. I like to make an extra pass, or dive on the floor, get loose balls — I do stuff like that,” said Holman, who mentioned what he’ll need to work on this summer,
“My mid-range game, and one-dribble pull-up would really help me be more effective.”
Holman will be playing his 17U season with Shoreline Hoops, a program he played with last summer also.
“I think for me this summer I’ll have more of a scoring role and making plays for my teammates. I’ll probably be looked at to score more than anyone and rebound too, and to guard the other team’s best players,” said Holman.
“Some personal goals I have probably are to get some more looks from different colleges, averaging 15-20 points per game with about 8 rebounds, those are some really good goals for me.”
