Continue ReadingThe most productive sophomore across the state this past year especially in Chicago might have been Simeon’s Talen Horton-Tucker. THT is a big bodied 6’5” small forward that can really shoot the ball from beyond the arc. He is outstanding off the catch. Powerful using his body when attacking off the bounce and draws contact. He just has a knack for being in the right spot and making the correct play. Improved as a defender with his instincts. Will even block an occasional shot. Tracking as a top 10 prospect in the next update for the 2018 class.
He spoke about how his game has come along as a sophomore.
“I think I developed my game a lot more from where I started at from the beginning of my freshman year until now. I think I am able to shoot the ball more, put it on the ground, and have got more athletic.”
With a talented 2018 class at Simeon it was him who the coaching staff and seniors trusted to be on the floor.
“It means a lot. Usually at Simeon Coach Rob (Smith) only lets the seniors out there. The fact that they had trust in me was great. I loved that.”
Nothing too serious on the recruiting front at this stage in the process, but expect it to start picking up some steam this summer.
