Continue ReadingMt. Carmel 2018 power forward Jackson Marcotte is the other half of Mt. Carmel’s young front line with Justin Carpenter. He is a bit of a different player. At 6’7” Marcotte is thicker and has a strong body especially in his lower half. Not the greatest athlete he uses his raw strength around the hoop to score through his opponents. Plays physical in the post on both ends of the floor. Quality area rebounder. Has the ability to step out and knock down a shot every now and then, but it is not his go to game.
Marcotte spoke about his sophomore season.
“It was a real good year. We expected to get this far if not farther. We had real good guys like Justin Carpenter and Austin Rager who we knew could help us. All three of us could do some real damage in southern Illinois. We are bummed about losing in the sectional, but we are ready to get back to work.”
He plays with Indiana Elite on the travel team circuit.
