The 6’9 forward is among the fastest rising players in the state. While still very much a raw player, he’s starting to impact the game more and this past week as he ran with Spiece Indy Heat 2018 in New Jersey, he did well enough to answer the questions of at least one Division I program.
“Feels great,” Bizeau said of his first offer. “It’s cool to see that all the time I have put into my game is coming back to me.”
Akron is a program he already has somewhat of a relationship with. Gavin’s father played at Ashland back in the day with one of Akron’s assistant coaches. He’s also been in to see Akron play and has at least done a little research on the program.
“I know Coach Dambrot is a very successful coach,” Bizeau said. “I went to Ball State and watched them earlier this year.”
Outside of Akron, Gavin has already drawn interest from some regional Division I programs including Valparaiso, Xavier, Dayton, and Indiana State. The reason for the interest is his body. At 6’9 now, Gavin has probably grown 4+ inches in a little over a year. He’s sprouted up quickly and he’s kept his ability to shoot and move strong. An adept shooter from distance, Bizeau gives you that prototypical face-up four game.
Gavin has a long way to go before he is a complete prospect. It might not be until he’s already in college that he really starts hitting his stride but again, that is part of the intrigue. With that said, he has offer number one in hand and he’s looking towards a big summer.
