Continue ReadingEJ Liddell is a 6’7” 2019 power forward from Belleville West that has broad shoulders and big upper body. He knows how to use it too. Liddell is a beast on the glass. He uses his physical body to box out and be a volume rebounder. The way he rebounds the basketball is very impressive at a young age. Offensively shows flashes in the post, but isn’t a go to scorer at this stage. On the defensive end he anchors as a post defender and blocks shots at a high rate. One of the best post prospects in the class.
Liddell averaged 17.5 points and 6 rebounds per game as a freshman in a tough conference. He spoke about the year.
“I think I had a good freshman season playing with seniors that helped me out. They inspired me to work hard in practice all the time. I just wanted to go out on the court and do my thing to help the team win. Individually I think I did well. I developed an outside shot toward the end of the season. I need to work on my ball handling.”
What does he feel the strengths are in his game?
“I think I get after it and play good defense and block shots. I move the ball if I have a double or triple team.”
He is excited to be playing with a talented St. Louis Eagles 15U squad.
“We have some great guys on this team. We like to move the ball. Good shooters. They know when to give the ball to me.”
Still very early in the recruiting process, but expect high major interest to start rolling in over the next year.
