Continue ReadingThornwood 2016 shooting guard Drew Evans was one of the unsigned seniors that played at the recent NY2LA Sports Swish N Dish running with Chicago Lockdown. We have Evans ranked in the top 35 and is among the better wing prospects still on the board in the class of 2016. The senior will be playing the spring trying to elevate his stock. He is an elite athlete that plays above the rim. Speed in transition and gets to the foul line. Good shooter especially from mid-range. Can really defend when locked in on that end of the floor. D2 and JUCO’s should be getting him in on a visit ASAP as he is among the best wing prospect left in the state.
He updates us on his recruitment.
“I am being recruited by a lot of D3 and D2 schools. I came back to play AAU because I am only 17 and am trying to get more schools interested.”
What schools is he in the most communication with at this stage?
“Oklahoma Panhandle State, D2 St. Joe’s in Indiana, Illinois Central, Lincoln, and Ferris State.”
Evans tells us he plans on playing through the two April live periods to see where his recruitment goes.
