Players to Watch
- Kip Green: He may only be in eighth grade, but he’s got the body of a college lineman already. At 6’5″ and upwards of 250 lbs., Green is surprisingly agile on both ends of the floor. He has good hands and feet, a soft touch in the paint and he’s a workhorse on the glass. He has to get his body right, and has a long way to go, but he’s one to keep an eye on moving forward for sure.
- Cade Fix: He isn’t overly quick or explosive, but Fix has a terrific feel and can play both guard positions. He’s a solid ball handler that protects the basketball and is able to create off the dribble. He’s smart enough to defend more athletic players, and he’s a versatile scorer that can make plays on both ends.
- Cameron Allen: A strong and heady guard that can also play both guard positions, Allen is a playmaker that can take over games when needed. Exceptional in transition, he knows how to use his body and finish around the basket. He has to improve his jump shot and on the defensive end, but the potential as a lead guard is there now.
- Chris Shepherd: Another of their many point guards, Shepherd is a tough competitor that plays hard from tip to buzzer. He plays on the same high school team as Spectrum 16 guard Nick Price, and there’s a similarity in their burst, scrappiness and ability to make plays. He has to get stronger, but Shepherd’s toughness can’t be taught.
