24 | Derrick Wesley | 5’11 | 2017 | South Bend Riley |
Notes: MBA Select does a good job of bringing together some of the best talent from the Michiana area with South Bend, Elkhart, and surrounding areas. This 2017 group doesn’t have any guys that are going to jump off the page but plenty of talent that needs a little more attention. At the wing spots, Matt Barnard and Trey Bilinski are a pair that can bring some value. Trey is the quarterback and has a lot of versatility on the floor, especially defensively. Barnard is a bigger guard with a solid skillset who still needs to take that next step. Brandon Watts and Matt McCown are a pair of post players with upside. Matt is the more polished of the two who plays more of a back-to-the-basket game relative to Watts. Brandon is a solid mid-range faceup forward with strength and touch on his jumper. Also, look for Brian Doslak and Michael Green to have big summers at the point.

# | Name | HT | Class | High School |
2 | Alex Francoeur | 5’10 | 2018 | South Bend Washington |
21 | Rylen Grundy | 6’4 | 2018 | South Bend Riley |
3 | Mike Hemingway | 5’10 | 2018 | Mishawaka Marian |
14 | Zach Lattimer | 6’3 | 2018 | Mishawaka Marian |
4 | Xavier O’Neal Jr. | 6’2 | 2018 | South Bend Washington |
1 | Brady Powers | 5’10 | 2018 | South Bend St. Joseph |
22 | BJ Saunders | 6’0 | 2018 | Mattawan (MI) |
23 | Cade Walberg | 6’2 | 2018 | South Bend Washington |
Notes: The 2018 version of MBA Select is a little more on the unknown side. Comprised of mostly guard and some undersized bigs, there are a few highlights on this 2018 team. Mike Hemingway is a talented point guard who is capable of being a scoring threat. He’ll be joined in the backcourt with Xavier O’Neal and Alex Francouer. Rylen Grundy will provide a little size and has the ability to be effective in the AAU season. This group is one of the few top teams that will be a bit of a surprise and in this day, it is a bit refreshing.

# | Name | HT | Class | High School |
2 | Kash Bliesner | 5’8 | 2019 | Mattawan (MI) |
15 | Anthony Cellentani | 6’4 | 2019 | St. Joseph’s (MI) |
11 | Zach Goodline | 5’9 | 2019 | Coloma (MI) |
5 | Kelwyn Hemingway | 5’9 | 2019 | Mishawaka Marian |
21 | Cameron Koschnick | 6’5 | 2019 | Penn |
10 | Robert Peals II | 5’11 | 2019 | Loy Norrix (MI) |
23 | Eli Potts | 6’0 | 2019 | Portage Central |
4 | Coley Quinn | 6’4 | 2019 | Mishawaka Marian |
12 | Dane Simatovich | 6’4 | 2019 | Wheeler |
0 | Tony Stuckey | 5’8 | 2019 | South Bend Washington |
3 | Brent Wireman | 5’7 | 2019 | Kouts |
Notes: At the 2019 level, you have a younger brother to watch as well as a Michigan wing that could have a lot of upside. Kelwyn Hemingway is the slightly younger brother of Mike on the 2018 team. Built in the same way, Kelwyn is going to be a ball-dominant guard with an ability to score in transition. Anthony Cellantani is a bigger forward from Michigan that has some upside as a faceup guy. This group has a good amount of size for a 2019 roster. Cameron Koschnick , Coley Quinn, and Dane Simatovich, if any of those guys can be effective, this team should win some games.
